Gary Winchester Obituary
Born November 22, 1980, in Edinburgh, Scotland, he was a son of Diane Brown and Derek Winchester. Gary was a graduate of Penicuik High School in Scotland and received a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication from Lander University in 2005, while on a soccer scholarship. He was a production manager for American Roofing and a long-time soccer coach of several organizations including the Toros, Emerald High School, the Erskine College Women's Soccer Team and was an instructional coach for US Youth Soccer.
He was a member of NewSpring Church and was a former Master Mason.
Surviving in addition to his wife of Greenwood are his mother of Competa, Spain; father of Penicuik, Scotland; a son, Jaxson Oliver Winchester; a daughter, Keighan Muriel Winchester; two step-daughters, Rylie Elizabeth and Reese Ann Cullens; and several aunts and cousins of Scotland and Spain.
He was predeceased by a sister, Louise Brown.
A memorial service will be held 3 PM Friday at NewSpring Church with Rev. Matt Alley officiating.
The family will receive friends at the church from 1:30 -3:00 Friday afternoon.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Oaks Recovery, PO Box 50023 Greenwood, SC 29649.
