Giannis Tsantakis Obituary

Giannis Tsantakis Ioannis "Giannis" Georgiou Tsantakis, 46, of Greenwood, SC died Sunday, September 30, 2018. Born in Plainview, New York, April 3, 1972, he was the son of Charlene O. Tsantakis of Simpsonville, SC and Mr. and Mrs. George J. Tsantakis of Cross Hill, SC.

Giannis worked in construction, specializing in exterior finishes, in Greenville, SC. He loved spending time with his family and watching football, specifically the Clemson Tigers and New Orleans Saints. He was a witty, fun, loving person who was loved by all. He had a big personality with an even larger heart; he would always give you the shirt off his back and put a smile on your face. His memory will live eternally in our hearts.

Surviving in addition to his parents are his son George I. Tsantakis of Greenville,SC, his daughter Alexandria T. Tharpe (Colby) and grandson Wyatt Tillman Tharpe of Simpsonville, SC, his daughter Dakota Phoenix Baggett and son Nikos G. Tsantakis both of Gilbert, SC. Also surviving are his sister Eleni T. Tsikalakis (Lefteris), niece Anastasia Tsikalakis and nephews Mihalis and George Tsikalakis. His paternal family members reside in Palekastro, Crete, Greece, and they will miss him dearly. He was pre-deceased by his namesake, Ioannis M. Tsantakis, with whom he had a close connection.

Visitation for family and friends will be October 5, 2018 at 9:30 AM at Blyth Funeral Home followed by a funeral service at 11 AM at Blyth Funeral Home. A reception will follow the burial in Oakbrook Memorial Park in the Family Center.
