James Sullivan Obituary

James R. "Rick" Sullivan, 77, resident of Ridgewood Harbor Road, husband of Ruby Manley Sullivan, passed away Friday, September 27, 2024, at Hospice & Palliative Care of the Piedmont.

Born January 1, 1947, in Darlington, SC, he was a son of the late Willima Curtis and Osiellee Carnes Sullivan. He was a US Air Force Veteran and retired from the US Post Office in Wilmington, NC as a rural carrier; he also retired from the US Coast Guiard Reserves.

He was a member of Siloam Baptist Church and a member of Mary Calhoun Sunday School Class, Class President, and was a Deacon. He did Costa Rica Missions Work at camp Britney

Surviving in addition to his wife of 14 years are a brother, Michael Sullivan (Lori) of Florence, SC; a sister, Judy Stokes of Darlington, SC; a step-son, Steven Baker of Waterloo; a step-daughter, Wendy Duncan (Dwayne) of Travelers Rest; six step-grandchildren; and eight step-great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by two sisters, Jackie and Patricia.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 PM Friday at Siloam Baptist Church with Rev. Phillip Howle officiating.

Burial will be at a later date at Forestville Baptist Church Cemetery in Travelers Rest.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons.

The family will receive friends at the church from 1-2 Friday afternoon, with services to follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Siloam Baptist Church, PO Box 373 Ninety Six, SC 29666.
