Jean Holloway Stroud

Jean Holloway Stroud, 90, passed away on Wednesday, January 1, 2025 at Wesley Commons.

Born on February 8, 1934 in Greenwood, SC to the late Carl Leroy Holloway and Gladys Wash Holloway. She was an avid reader, crossword puzzle master, and enjoyed working in her flower garden. Mrs. Stroud was a member of First Baptist Church of Greenwood, the Star Fort Chapter of DAR, and was a founding board member of the Star Fort Historical Commission. She found the most joy in spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Surviving are sons, John Holloway Stroud (Ferol), and Gene Edwin Stroud (Peggy) both of Greenwood and daughter Carole Stroud Cash (Paul) of Kinards. Grandchildren Keaton Stroud Rogers (Sam), Hannah Stroud Cook (Will), Jordan Elizabeth Cash, Rachael Cash Tomlinson (Harry), and Phillip Ethan Cash. She is also survived by her brother, Carl LeRoy Holloway, Jr. (Jan) and step grandchildren Raymond Theron Sivell and Andrew Gabriel Sivell. She had five great grandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews. Mrs. Stroud was predeceased by her sister Sylvia Holloway Kortan, niece Holley Kortan Sandri, and her much loved grandson Carl Holloway Stroud.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Carl Holloway Stroud Memorial Scholarship Fund, South Carolina Waterfowl Association Foundation, 9833 Old River Road, Pinewood, SC 29125.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at 11:00 am at Blyth Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.
