Joseph Williams Obituary

Joseph Tyson Williams, Sr., 84, resident of Greenwood, SC, husband of Carolyn Burch Williams, went to be with his Lord and Savoir Jesus Christ, on Saturday, February 22, 2025. They were happily married for 64 years.

Born April 14, 1940, in Graham, NC, he was a son of the late Ira Lee Williams and Vilene Harden Williams. He was a 1958 graduate of Graham High School and attended Elon College. Tyson worked with Belknap Hardware Sales in Louisville, Kentucky and retired from Monroe Hardware Sales in Monroe, North Carolina.

He was an active member of South Main Baptist Church in Greenwood.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two children, Lisa Williams Smith (David) of Easley, SC and a Joseph Tyson Williams, Jr. from Charlotte, NC. He is predeceased by his siblings, Carol Turner, Amanda Williams, and Nancy Williams Cobb.

A memorial service will be conducted at 2 PM Saturday at South Main Baptist Church with Dr. Toby Frost and Rev. Andy Roberson officiating.

The family is at the home on Windsor Oak Court and will receive friends at the church in the Connecting Place immediately following the service.

Blyth Funeral Home & Cremation Services is assisting the Williams family with arrangements.
