Walter O'Dell Obituary

Walter Franklin "Walt" O'Dell Walter Franklin "Walt" O'Dell, 55, resident of 402 Sunrise Circle, died Friday, May 25, 2018 at Hospice House, Hospice Care of the Piedmont.

Born in Greenwood, August 28, 1962, he was the son of Newton W. O'Dell and Harriette Poore Coker. Walt was a 1980 graduate of Greenwood High School and retired from Parke-Davis (now Covidien) as a shipping director after 32 years of service. He was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving in addition to his father of Greenwood and his mother of Hodges is a brother, Michael (Elizabeth) O'Dell of Charlotte, NC and a half-sister, Laura O'Dell (Timothy) Rushton of Lake Greenwood.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM Thursday from the Blyth Funeral Home Chapel with Catherine O'Dell officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Timmy Rushton, Tony Rushton, Don Moore, Mitch McClain, Robert Fields and Joey Knight.

The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 7 Wednesday evening.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the Humane Society of Greenwood, PO Box 49776, Greenwood, SC 29649.
