Albert Kurker Obituary

Albert Thomas Kurker

76, passed away on July 17, 2016. Tom was born May 30, 1940. He is survived by his wife Jackie Kurker, Eight children, Dawn (Kurker) Frutig, Mike Meyers, Sheri (Kurker) Plantz, Chris Meyers, Lisa, Meyers Dan Kurker, Kim (Meyers,) Schlink and Kevin Kurker.  He's been blessed with many grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren who love and adore Tom's gentle and kind nature.

Known as the Eight is Enough Kurker house, we all enjoyed many memories created in our loving home. A graduate of the University of Notre Dame, Tom religiously cheered for his Fighting Irish every Saturday in the fall. His passion for boating on the lake, reading mystery novels, Lebanese food, attending Mass, spending time with family and friends and of course lemonade were only a few of the comforts that made Tom feel happiness. Loved by so many in his life, we all are eternally grateful to have shared the precious time with this wonderful man, dad, husband, grandpa, and friend.

There will be a Family and Friends gathering Friday July 22nd 5:00 - 6:30 p.m. at St Maria Goretti Catholic Church, 17102 Spring Mill Rd, Westfield, IN. Please enter at Door #6. The Memorial Service will be held at St Maria Goretti Catholic Church on Saturday July 23rd at 11:00 a.m. followed by a Luncheon at the Parish.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Catholic Charities USA/Alliance with the University of Notre Dame, PO Box 17066 Baltimore, MD 21297.

To the Kurker Family,
As a co-worker and friend at Kittles, I always admired Tom's spirit, despite the challenges he faced working on such a large retail floor. His smile made me happy to see that there was joy when he was here.
I know you will miss him, as we all will, as well.
Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
My sympathy,

My husband, Roger Johnson, was Tom's roommate at Kindred his final weeks. When we met Jackie and Tom, we immediately loved both of them. Tom's sense of humor helped us through uncertain times. He always had a smile and a wave from his bed upon entering the room. Jackie's understanding and faithfulness were an inspiration. God bless Tom, Jackie, and your beautiful family.

To Jackie and all the Kurker-Meyers Family,
My heart, love, and prayers go out to each of you with the loss of Tom from your everyday lives. But as you remember him for who he was to you on earth - husband, dad, grandpa, great-grandpa, best friend, mentor....,you now have the JOY of adding Guardian Angel to your list! I pray that as you mourn your earthly loss, you CELEBRATE WITH TOM as he shares his eternal home with Jesus, where you will all one day be reunited together in pure LOVE. No one ever really passes from this life because our memories keep our loved ones forever by our side. I love you all and pray comfort and peace in the harder times, and love and joy in the lighter ones! God Bless!!
