Barbara Resler Obituary

Barbara G. Resler 71, of Indianapolis, IN, passed away on September 11, 2005. She was born in Green County, IN, on June 24, 1934 to the late Wilmot and Urah (Hoke) Resler. Barbara completed nursing school at Indiana State University in Terre Haute. After graduating she transferred to Indiana University to complete her undergraduate degree. She later received both her Masters and PhD from Indiana University. Most recently she was a Nurse Educator at Indiana University having also taught at the University of Kansas and Marymount University during her career. Memberships included, Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society of Nursing, Indiana State Nurses Assoc., and the American Nurses Assoc. She is survived by her life partner of 32 years, Linda J. Shinn; brothers, James, Lowel, and Merl Resler; one sister, Fern Crody; several nieces and nephews; and many loving friends. She was preceded by both her parents and one brother, Harold Resler. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 8 at 12 noon in the Leppert Life Story Funeral Home, Nora Chapel. Friends and family will gather one hour prior to the service.
