Charlene Jacobs Obituary

Charlene Jacobs Of Greenwood, IN, died November 3, 2010. Charlene was born in Sheridan, IN to Blaine and Jennie (Harbaugh) Moore November 12, 1932. She was the GOP County Vice Chairman of Hamilton County for almost 10 years. She worked in the office of the Hamilton County Highway for four years. Then she worked for the State of Indiana in Procurement for 27 years before retiring in 1996. She was a National Delegate to the GOP convention in 1976. She received a Sagamore of the Wabash from Governor Bowen in 1975. She received The Distinguished Hoosier Award from Governor Bayh in 1966. She was also a Certified Nutritionist. She is survived by three children, James M. Clark (Beth) of Westfield, Marcia Clark of Sheridan and Linda Kwiatek of St. Louis, MO; and a companion Don Pribyl. She had 5 grandchildren, Michelle Browning (Steve), Chad Burnell, Blaine, Meagan and Lauren Clark; two great-grandchildren, Katelyn, and Sean O'Reilly; two step children, Dr. Ken Jacobs (Melinda) and Gale Capling (Troy); one step grandchild, Kelley King; one sister, Maxine Cline of Frankfort, IN. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harvey C. Jacobs, and brothers, Dr. Morris Moore, Lamar, and Laverne Moore. Services will be at 11 a.m. Mon. Nov. 8 in Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Home Greenwood Chapel, 481 West Main Street, Greenwood, with calling from 3 to 7 p.m. Sun., Nov. 7. Burial will be in Boxley Cemetery, Sheridan, IN, following the service at 1:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society Indiana Chapter 5635 W. 96th St. Ste 100 Indpls, In. 46278.
