David Bartram Obituary

David L. Bartram 68, of Nineveh and formerly of Beech Grove and Indianapolis, passed away December 22, 2006. He was born May 8, 1938 in Gary, IN. He was a 1956 graduate of Ben Davis High School, Indianapolis. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps, honorably discharged in 1960. David was employed at Eli Lilly & Co. in the capsule plant for 31 years, retiring in 1993. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Edinburgh and was a former member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Beech Grove. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Janet Ann (Mueller) Bartram; his children, Robin A. Andrews, Diana Sue (Ken) LaRose, Julie A. (Doug) Opel, David L. (Kelly) Bartram, Angela M. (John) Oechsle and Doug Joe (Angi) Bartram; his grandchildren, Nick, Kari, Philip and Jack Andrews; Gina, Kenny and Anthony LaRose; Morgan, Mallory, Bryce and Meredith Opel; Sean, Katie, Taylor, Jake and Amber Bartram; David, Daniel, Derek, Drew and Amy Oechsle and Hannah Rose Bartram. He is also survived by three half sisters. His parents, Harry E. Bartram and Ruth E. (Burgess) Lyons, his infant sister, Nancy Sue Lyons and his son-in-law, Karl D. Andrews all preceded him in death. A prayer service will be conducted at 10:15 a.m. on Wednesday, December 27 at G.H. Herrmann Madison Ave. Funeral Home, 5141 Madison Ave. followed by 11 a.m. Mass at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, December 26 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to The Little Sisters of the Poor, Wheeler Mission or Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
