He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Later, David became a real estate broker, founding David Epstein Co. in 1963 which grew from its humble beginnings on east 38th Street in a one room office heated by a toaster.

Myra & Amy & family,

I just heard the sad news that David has left us! I haven't spoken with him for a few years but I loved working with him and negotiating deals! He was quite the masterful negotiator!

Rest in peace David-dear!

David always had a smile on his face. I never understood how, but we were somehow related and whenever I would see him, he would always say "Hi, Cousin".
May his memory be a blessing.

Dear Myra, Sorry to hear about David's passing. He and I played football at Shortridge, but he was a much better player. I'm sorry I haven't seen him in the past several years, but I have certainly thought about him. David fought the good fight and won. Larry Carter, SHS 1952

David was a neighbor and friend. We had lunches - more appropriately termed as liers club meetings at a local grill, and we always ordered the same meals. David loved his cashew chicken salad. Over time we discovered many close ties. The Epsteins used to live in North Willow Farms and were neighbors of my sister (The Spraetz's). Many years ago, David was the real estate broker for a commercial site involving my family. There was a tie with his wife Myra and the Lobers, who owned a dry good store beside one of my father's pharmacies. David and I loved the Colts, IU and Butler basketball. During lunches and at nursing home visits, we solved every problem all those teams ever faced. I will miss his wonderful sense of humor and the fellowship shared with my buddy David.

Maxine and I were so sorry to hear about David. I've known David since high school and have so many good memories, from his corny jokes to his love of sports. He was the best man at our wedding. Last time we saw him at the nursing home, he was happy to see us and still told us his corny jokes.
We will miss him. Our love and hugs to Myra and the family.

We've had our ups, we've had our downs, but
always there was lots of laughter. Goodbye

Alan & family- I am so sad to hear about your dad's passing. I know you have taken such loving care of him and recent years. I have wonderful memories of my years of babysitting for you and your sisters. You certainly had loving, supportive parents with your dad being more of strong, silent partner. Cherish your wonderful memories. Jan Hinkle Neat

Phyllis and I were very sorry to hear about David. He sold us our first house and our vacation property in Spencer which was where we have many fond memories. He was a good friend and frequently laughed at my jokes. He will be missed.

I am remembering with so much love and fondness a man, no matter how old I get, I will always refer to as, "Mr. Epstein." I met him when I was in elementary school and I spent countless hours at the Epstein home playing with my "BFF," Jenn. He always welcomed me in his loud booming voice and had something nice or funny to say. He always offered me food, which I loved! :) I remember him enjoying his bike rides, a good beach vacation or cruise, and I remember his cool sports car. He will always remain part of the fabric of my childhood and I thought of he and Mrs. Epstein as a second set of parents. I will look up at the stars and smile knowing that he is at peace up in heaven. My spirit and so much love are with all of you, the Epstein family, right now.
