Dave was a wonderful St. Norbert College friend.
I knew him mainly as a great football team member. I was a way undersized linebacker (5'8" and165# as a freshman) and Dave was one of the few that really encouraged me to stick with the team.
We played together for all four years. Dave's main position was as a D-back but he could also fill in very well at QB.
A highlight we shared was our game against Augustana (South Dakota) where we beat them something like 45-38. One of their players (RB Les Josephson} went on to play in the NFL for the LA Rams and played on the 1967 NFL All-Star Game.
Dave was much more than a great football teammate; he was one of the few people you meet in life who, from day one, was very special.
And that trait only got stronger the longer I knew him.
I am confident Dave is now enjoying the fruits of a "life well lived!"
Thanks, Dave for being a great friend! May God continue to bless you!

As a kid growing up...we often heard about the "superstar from Aquinas"....Dave Gagermeier. We didnt know him personally but we heard about all his accomplishments especially on the basketball court. When I was about 10 years old...I went to Copeland Park to sign up for Little League baseball. I had the best surprise when I learned that one of our coaches was going to be the local "superstar" namely Dave Gagermeier. I remember him as a wonderful role model with a positive outlook who was just great to be around. I could never figure out why this local sports hero would take the time to teach baseball to us kids on the northside. After reading Dave's memorial....I now understand why. God bless Dave and his family. We know God has just welcomed another "Blugold" into His kingdom.
