David Lewis Lutz 66, of Noblesville, passed away Thursday, December 24, 2009 in his home. He was born on June 11, 1943 in Trenton, Michigan to Frederick J. and Catherine M. (Lewis) Lutz. Dave, a devoted husband, is survived by his wife of 44 years, Nancy L. (Lepanen) Lutz. Dave was the loving father to his three surviving sons, Bradley and Karen Lutz of Alexandria, VA, Craig and Amy Lutz of Noblesville, Mark and Erin Lutz of Cincinnati, OH. Dave adored his six grandchildren, Braydon, Meghan, Hayley and Abigayle Lutz of Noblesville, and Peyton and AnnaCate Lutz of Alexandria, VA. Dave is also survived by his brother, Robert and Carol Lutz of Kokomo; two nieces, Cheri and Chad Lovelace of Lafayette, and Kristin Goltz of Burlington. He was preceded in death by his father, Frederick J. Lutz, and mother, Catherine M. (Lewis) Lutz. Dave graduated from North Central High School ('61) and The College of William and Mary ('65) where he was a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. He was an eight-year board member of The Indiana Restaurant Association, served as a member in the Fifty Club of Hamilton County, served on the board of the YMCA Men's Club, was a past president of the Rotary Club, and a past president of the Kokomo YMCA. Dave was very involved in the lives of his three sons and served as coach of many youth sport teams. He spent 18 years at Syndicate Sales, serving as Vice President prior to his departure. He and his wife have owned and operated Lutz's Steak House for the past 26 years. Dave was an avid sports fan and cherished his time with his family, friends, fraternity brothers, and staff and patrons of Lutz's Steak House. Services will be held at First United Methodist Church in Noblesville on Tuesday, December 29, 2009, at 7:00 p.m., with Pastor Jack Wolfe officiating. The family will welcome visitors preceding the service from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Entombment will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at Sunset Memorial in Kokomo, Indiana.
