The mark of a great person and leader is that they raise the level of everyone around them. This was Denis Ribordy. I know he and my father are sitting around talking business. We miss both of them every day!

My very first job was as a stock boy at the Highland Indiana store where Denis had his headquarters. I will never forget that snowy December day when Denis mopped the floor of the Highland Store because everyone else was busy at the Christmas rush. What a wonderful example he set for us all. I learned so much from him. May God bless him eternally.

My condolences to the entire Ribordy family. Mr. and Mrs. Ribordy were as generous and welcoming as they come - including opening their home to a bunch of kids from Butler. Ribordy Drugs was an important part of growing up in Hammond and many, including myself, benefitted from the Ribordy involvement and leadership provided to Butler University. The Ribordy legacy will continue to live on as they have instilled those same values in Cheryl, Scott, Nancy and Mark.

We are deeply saddened to hear the news of Denis's passing. It would be extremely difficult for me to express in a few words what Denis meant to us. Although we haven't communicated directly recently, Denis was often in my thoughts and prayers. His support, patience, knowledge and willingness to teach had a significant effect on our lives for which we will forever be grateful.
That Sept. 1963 morning when he said: "grab a bucket and start washing the shelves" changed our lives forever. Ribordy Drugs was an important and wonderful part of my life for 22 years thanks to the Ribordy family.
Our condolences to Carolyn, Cheryl, Scott, Nancy and Mark and their families. You have much to be proud of.
