Don Pittman Obituary

Pastor Don Pittman 45, Indianapolis, was the Founder and Senior Pastor of the Higher Calling Community Church. His Never Settle message inspired hundreds to leave mediocrity behind and to pursue God's higher calling in their lives. His devotion to God and to his family provided an example in living a godly life, and his passionate messages were filled with his belief in a loving, faithful God. He was a man of vision; believing that every person was made for a purpose and leading many in discovering their purpose in life. His own life was one filled with following God's purpose, and running the race God set for him. He finished strong. Don is survived by his wife, Mindy Pittman; his sons, Zac Pittman and Jeremy Pittman; daughters, Lynnae Gorman and her husband, Jerimiah and Larissa Pittman; parents, Ted and Monah Pittman; parents in-law, Jerry and Sonnie Ishmael; and hundreds of others whose lives were changed by his ministry. Don is preceded in death by his sister, Lisa McIntosh. Funeral services will be held at the Higher Calling Community Church, 10710 Pendleton Pike, Tuesday, August 8 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be Monday from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the church. Final care and arrangements entrusted to Shirley Brothers Washington Memorial Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pittman Cancer Fund andor the Vision Project Fund, 10710 Pendleton Pike, Indianapolis IN, 46236.
