Donald Skaggs Obituary

Donald E. Skaggs 74, Indianapolis, died July 2, 2005 at his Indianapolis residence. His parents were William R. and Vester Maude (Burnett) Skaggs. Donald was born September 1, 1930 in Indianapolis, IN. He was married to Pat Glover, who survives. Other survivors include son Bob (Cindy) Skaggs of Lexington, KY; two daughters Kathy (Dan) McCauley of Indianapolis, Linda (Billy) Downing of Franklin; seven grandchildren Nicole, Derek McCauley, Eric, Kevin, Troy, Josh Skaggs, Heather (Steve) Flack; two great-grandchildren Austin Clark, Chastity Flack; six step-grandchildren Tim, Amanda, Ben, Toney Kranz, Linda (Steve) Mallinak, Dustin Clark; one step-great-grandchild Allison Kranz. Mr. Skaggs was an Air Force veteran, serving in the Korean War. He was a member of Faith United Church of Christ in Indianapolis, Acton Masonic Lodge, Indianapolis Scottish Rite, Indianapolis Murat Shrine. Mr. Skaggs worked for Store Door Merchandiser for five years as a merchandiser. He previously worked 25 years for Allied Grocer as a director of non-food merchandise. His hobbies were golf, fishing, making pipes and was a collector. Pastor Bruce Smith will conduct a funeral service at the Faith United Church of Christ on Wednesday, July 6, 2005 at 11:30 a.m. Friends may call at the Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, Stirling Gerber Chapel, 5950 E. Thompson Road on Tuesday, July 5, 2005 from 4 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Burial will be in Washington Park East Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the St. Francis Hospice or to the church.
