This man was my mentor when I was growing up. I enjoyed his family as they were my own. I am 74 now and will never forget his love and kindness. He taught me how to play ball when I was young. He had the best mom and dad ever. His dad was an insurance agent and he gave me policy when I was a kid. He even introduced me to White Ford a baseball player for the Reds. Best wishes for his family.!!

Mr.Whitehead was a great great man. He always had a postive outlook on life and loved sports. He is one of several African American male role models from Madison,Indiana that have led the way to lead by example. Don't be afraid Follow Dreams and Do not quit.... These words will not be forgotten.
He will be missed but NOT FORGOTTEN.

There is one word that describes Ed -- gentleman. He was the personification of all that word contains. Kind, caring, intelligent, generous with his spirit and his humor, proud and humble at the same time -- yes, a true gentleman. It was my honor to know him, work with him in sports and benefit from his wisdom. God Bless Ed and his family.

I was so sad to hear of Ed's passing. I remember him so fondly from my days working for the Colts and also seeing him at Pacers games. He always had a big hug for me whenever I saw him and would always ask about my family. I know how much he treasured his family and I am terribly sorry for your loss. Ed was a great man who will be missed.

I am so sorry for your loss. I always enjoyed working with Ed at the Pacers. Better yet, I was lucky enough to also have him as my softball coach! Simply put, he was a great guy. May knowing he's at peace bring you some solace at this time.

Good Times!
