85, passed away October 24, 2016. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph McFarland and children, Karyn Schooley and Connie Baynes. She is survived by her sons, Brian (Cathy) and Barry (Sandy) Hand; 7 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. A Celebration of Life Visitation will be 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. on Thursday, November 3, 2016 at Prestwick Country Club, 5197 Fairway Dr, Avon, IN 46123. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to the American Cancer Society. Online condolences may be shared at

Elsie was the mother I never had. She took me in as one of her own. I shall never forget her. She made my dad so happy.

The Harry and Gerry McFarland and the Jack and Patty McFarland Cahaney families extend our deepest sympathy on your mother' death. We have so many wonderful memories of going to Uncle Ralph and Aunt Elsie's home full of hospitality, laughter and always good food. Aunt Elsie was always so gracious to us, putting up with our lively ways. She was a great lady and we will miss her.
