Emily Hasser Obituary
Emily Elizabeth Hasser
33, of Indianapolis, died on March 5, 2014 at home with her family. She was born on January 5, 1981 in Indianapolis. Emily is survived by her parents, Stephen and Mary Hasser; her sisters, Meghan Hasser and Erin Gorski (John) and her brothers, Ben, Jeff and James Hasser; her grandmothers, Theresa Hasser and Betty Swindler. Emily graduated from Indiana State University and was employed by Brookdale Senior Living. Visitation will be in Feeney Hornak Keystone Mortuary , 71st and Keystone on Friday, March 7, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in Christ the King Catholic Church. Her final resting place will be in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery in Indianapolis. Dear Hasser family,

Emily's passing is such a great loss to the community and I cannot convey the gravity of losing such a dear and precious woman at such a young age. Looking back as we attended John Strange Elementary together, I always looked up to her and Erin, since they were a few classes ahead of me in school. They were kind, friendly, outgoing, cool, and awesome role models at school especially at such a young age. Emily has always shined bright and people notice even those who she never realized she impacted. Praying for Emily's family and friends for peace and comfort.

It is heartbreaking to hear this news. Emily was an EMT student of mine and became a friend and volunteer for the American Red Cross first aid team. I enjoyed having her in class and as volunteer. Rest in peace my friend.

My partner Susan and I would like tell Emily's family that we are sorry for your loss and what a tremndous loss she is to everyone who ever took the time to get to know her! We worked at Care Ambulance with her and loved her from the very minute she was put on our truck for us to train. I said then and still say now, if there was ever an angel walking among us it definately is her! Not a purer soul have we ever met! Please know that you all will stay in our prayers and thoughts always!

I am so sad to hear about this. I was unable to attend the calling or funeral, but please know that Emily and your family have been in my thoughts since I got the news. I remember fondly my little Hasser family from the Sunday Morning CCD classes. Emily and Erin (well, your whole family) always had the greatest smiles and were so much fun to be around. I know my life was touched by Emily and I am saddened by her passing.

Emily was a model of perseverance and hope to so many. Her life was much too short but brought to each she knew the joy and celebration of each day we live on this earth.
