Florence Schueth Obituary

Florence "Liz" Elizabeth Schueth

Indianapolis - On April 9, 2021 at the age of 91, Liz Schueth passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family and loved ones.

Liz was born in St. Cloud, Minnesota to Bernard and Hilda Ahrens, where she spent her childhood alongside her three younger sisters. Liz studied Medical Technology at Saint Cloud State University before completing her clinical training at Saint Cloud Hospital. She had a successful career at various hospitals managing laboratories and teaching students. In 1976, when her husband started his own business, Liz put her career on hold and teamed with him, successfully managing the office and assisting with a wide range of responsibilities.

On April 25, 1959, Liz married Robert "Bob" Schueth, who proceeded her in death in 2007 after 48 years of marriage. They settled in Indianapolis, Indiana and raised four children together. Liz was a devout Catholic who was passionate in her faith, and she instilled this in her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed knitting, gardening, and hosting memorable dinner parties. She was admired for her quick wit, determination, love of laughter, and generous spirit. Liz also spent her time golfing with her husband, reading, playing Mahjong, devoting time to her grandchildren, and knitting prayer shawls for the less fortunate.

Liz is survived by her sisters, Kathleen Condon and Joanne Bensen, her four children, John (and Terri) Schueth; Paul (and Betsy) Schueth; Mary Beth Schueth M.D.; and Catherine (and Bill) Thomas, nine grandchildren, Elizabeth and Stephen; Michael and Sarah; Patrick and Kayleigh; Rebecca, Jennifer and Caroline, and five great-grandchildren, who all affectionately refer to her as "Nonnie." The family is thankful for many wonderful years with their beloved mother and grandmother, and finds peace in knowing Bob and Liz are reunited in eternal life. Liz was preceded in death by her mother, Hilda Herzog Ahrens; father, Bernard Ahrens; infant brother, Eugene Ahrens; and sister, Jean Ahrens Scheppers

Visitation will be held Thursday, April 15, 2021 at Leppert Mortuary Nora from 5pm-8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, April 16, 2021 at Holy Spirit Geist Catholic Church at 10:30am.
