Fred C. Dilger, Jr.
90, Indianapolis, passed away Monday June 25, 2012. He was born on December 13, 1921 in Indianapolis to Fred C. Sr. and Clara Margaret Wernsing Dilger.
Fred was a 1939 graduate of Cathedral High School and had attended Butler University. He was an Indianapolis Firefighter for almost 34 years retiring on December 1, 1979 with the rank of District Chief. He was a Navy veteran of WWII. Fred was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 3660. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, James A. and John F. Dilger.
Fred is survived by his wife, Hannah Hunt Dilger; daughters, Dianne Morelock, Janet Dilger and Nancy Cissell; 8 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday July 2, 2012 at 10 a.m. in St. Roch Catholic Church, of which he was a member. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. in Daniel F. O'Riley Funeral Home , where morning prayers will be said on Monday at 9:30 a.m. prior to Mass. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
