Gregory Winterrowd Obituary

Gregory E. Winterrowd, 47, Zionsville, formerly of Kalamazoo, MI and Cascade, MT, died Sept. 16, 2003. Mr. Winterrowd was born on April 21, 1956 in Shelby, MT to Jack and Mildred Kohles Winterrowd, his father preceded him in death. Gregory was a 1974 graduate of Cascade H.S., where he was captain of the basketball team. He then earned BS and MS Degrees in Microbiology from Montana State University. Two summers, while in school, he worked as a cowhand at Vanetta Ranch in Cascade, of which he was very proud. Mr. Winterrowd spent 21 years in the pharmaceutical industry working for Pharmacia and most recently Eli Lilly and Co. He was known as an avid sports fan, especially when it came to watching his children. He was a passionate runner, having completed 2 Indianapolis Marathons and competing in the Boston Marathon. His enjoyments went beyond sports, including his love for rock-n-roll, most notably Fleetwood Mac, and professionally he was known as a dedicated researcher. He is survived by his wife, Chris Koebbe Winterrowd, whom he married on June 19, 1982 in Hardin, MT; his children, Kyle and Leanne Winterrowd both of Zionsville; a brother, Doug (Eileen) Winterrowd of Boise, Idaho and their daughter, Erin; and mother and step-father, Mildred Kohles Winterrowd White and Sam White of Cascade, MT. A Mass of Resurrection will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 20 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, 1870 W. Oak St., Zionsville with Father Douglas McCormack officiating. Visitation will be held after the mass at the church. Arrangements entrusted to Flanner & Buchanan Funeral Center- Zionsville.
