Hazel Bender
97, of Indianapolis, died Nov. 26, 2011. She was born June 3, 1914 to George M. and Verna M. Hoss Sylvester.
Hazel was a member of Englewood Christian Church and worked at Daugherty's Bridal Shop as a seamstress.
Visitation will be Wednesday, November 30, from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. at Shirley Broth ers Washington Memorial Chapel, 9606 E. Washington St.
Hazel is survived by her children, Shirley Patterson, Jeanie Newhouse, and Rick Bender; siblings, Martha Gaither, and Raymond Sylvester; eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
Hazel is preceded in death by her husband, Scott; sisters, Ruth Martin, and Marie Ryan; and a grandson, Brian Newhouse.
