Heather Johnson Obituary
36, of Greenwood, passed away on December 18, 2015. She was born on August 23, 1979 in Fort Wayne, IN to Dallas and Sharon (Cleveland)Day. Heather graduated in 1997 from Homestead High School, then went onto Indiana University and graduated with a Bachelor and Master's Degree. She was formerly employed at IPS and currently employed at Emma Donna Charter. Heather truly loved animals and children.
Survivors include her husband, Nathaniel; parents , Dallas and Sharon Day; sister, Sarah (Travis) Medina; brother, Adam (Cortney) Day; father-in-law, Mike Johnson; mother-in-law, Nancy Johnson; 4 cousins; 14 nieces and nephews; aunt, Andrea Day; grandfather, Lowell Berryman. Preceded in death by her grandmother, Violet Berryman and uncle, David Day.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at G. H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home, 1605 South State Road 135 and Olive Branch Road, with services following at 2:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be at Salem Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Johnson County Humane Society. Online condolences may be shared with the family at

Heather was an amazing person and teacher. I got to know her through my sons school, and the fact her and I share the same first and middle name. I still remember that Friday, saying goodbye, getting the kids in the cars, and wishing everyone a happy holiday! Her smile was bright and infectious!! She is remembered every year in our hearts. She made an impact in this community that will forever stick. Thank you for sharing her with the kids and the world.

Heather made an impact on a lot of people, especially children. One thing I will always remember is her beautiful smile and the way she greeted you. Always uplifting, very kind, and passionate. She is remembered in our hearts and home every year.

I had the pleasure of working with Heather at Emma, she was a passionate and dedicated educator. During my last visit, she shared an idea with me to teach scholars values. In her memory, we will implement her suggested program at our school. Although she is no longer with us, her legacy will continue to improve the lives of others.

The Compassionate Friends is an international grief support group for parents, grandparents and siblings who have suffered the heartbreaking loss of a child. Our only mission is to provide comfort, hope and support to every family experiencing the death of a son or daughter, brother or sister, or grandchild, and to help others better assist the grieving family.
We meet monthly on the first Tuesday at the First Baptist Church, 99 W. Main St, Greenwood, IN 46142 and on the third Thursday at the Faith Apostolic Church, 1212 E. 116th St., Carmel, IN 46032.
If and when you are ready to do so, please join us for either, or both, meetings.
