Howard Dobbs was my first pastor. He told my mother and me "Just call me the Preacher!" He said it with that big genuine smile of his. He was so nice and personable and caring. He was there when I went forward in church to receive Christ and he came over to my house to tell me all about what baptism means, then ran right over to the church to turn on the baptismal. He married my husband and me also. Howard was also a very good preacher, teacher and counselor and I missed him when he moved from Santa Barbara. I am sure he made wonderful things happen in his new community and he's doing so now with Jesus. I still think of you Howard and I will never forget you and your lovely family too. Signed, Karen (Guerra) Lindsey.

Dear Carolyn, I haven't forgotten you or Howard these past six years. You have been on my prayer list and I reflect on all the good memories that we have shared through the years.
Every time I read the book of Jude (which isn't very often) I think of Howard and how he spent almost a year or more teaching that. He was one special teacher and I remember learning from him while we were in college, or whenever I had the opportunity of hearing him preach.
I know he is dearly missed by you and your family - but can only imagine what he is experiencing in his eternal home.
Blessings to you and your family,
Peggy Hileman

Carolyn and family, I was so sad and shocked to learn of Howard's passing. I treasure the friendship I have had with both of you for so many years. I have such special memories of the times we have shared together at CCU and in the intervening years. God's blessings be with you and your family.
