Hugh Weaver Obituary

Hugh W. Weaver, 87, Danville, died Friday, Jan. 9, 2004. He was born on Aug. 4, 1916 in Pittsboro, IN to Carl and Nora (McConnaha) Weaver. He married Viola "Vici" Francisco, she survives.Mr. Weaver was a graduate of Arsenal Tech H.S. in 1935, I.U. in 1939 and the Indiana School of Mortuary Science in 1940. A funeral director since 1940, he founded Weaver F.H. in Danville in 1949, Weaver F.H. in Clayton in 1958 and purchased Powell F.H. in Coatesville in 1964. Hugh operated the Danville and Clayton F.H.;s until 1981 when they were purchased by Ron and Jenny Randolph.Mr. Weaver was a member of the Danville Chrisitian Church since 1949, serving as a deacon, elder, trustee and in 1989 became a life church officer. He was a charter member, past president and Paul Harris Fellow of the Danville Rotary Club. A 33rd degree mason, Hugh was a 62 year member of the Danville Masonic Lodge, the Danville OES Chapter of which he was a past worthy patron and a life member of the Scottish Rite Indianapolis Valley.Formerly he served 2 terms as the Hendricks Co. Center Township. Trustee, a former member and president of the Danville Community School Board and a board of director for Citizens Savings & Loan, Security Savings Great Lakes Bancorp, now Union Federal Bank.Services: 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13 in the church. Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 12 at Weaver & Randolph Funeral Home, Danville. Entombment: Crown Hill Mausoleum, Indpls.Survivors: children, Diane Roberts of Plainfield, Debbie Weaver of Greencastle and Dr. Dan Weaver of Jasper; 9 grandchildren; and 1 great grandchild. He was preceded in death by a son; 1 brother; and 2 sisters.
