Ira Scott Obituary

Ira F. Scott, Jr. 75, of Lebanon passed away May 24, 2010. He was the son of Ira F. and Estine Scott. Mr. Scott had been employed by R. R. Donnelley & Sons, Crawfordsville for over 40 years before retiring in 1996. After retiring from Donnelley's he became one of the "yellow shirts" at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the last 12 years. He served as Assistant Area Commander for Suites and Shops in Division 16. He served on the Western Boone Jr. Sr. High School Board 1972-1976 as a member-at-large for the southern region during the final construction and opening of Western Boone High School. He served as a Little League Coach and participated in Western Boone Band Boosters. He and his wife of 57 years, Patsy, had four sons: Brad (Martha) of Lebanon, Brian (Julie) of Johnston, Iowa, Brent (Cara) of Indianapolis, and Bruce (Mary) of Batesville, IN. They were the proud grandparents of eight grandsons and 2 step grandsons. They survive as does a sister, Louise Proctor, of Lebanon. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 2 sisters. Scotty was a member of the New Brunswick Church of Christ, Lebanon and the B.P.O.E. # 483 in Crawfordsville. Funeral services will be held at New Brunswick Church of Christ , 6480 S. St. Rd. 39, in Boone Co. Sat., May 29 at 10 a.m. Visitation at the church is May 28, 4 to 8 p.m. Burial will be at Old Union Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Boone County Cancer Society, 117 W.
