I met Jim when we both joined the United States Army Reserve 425th Personnel Services Company in Indianapolis, IN in 1970. We were both in Basic Combat Training at Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri in the spring of 1971. We were in Company A, Fifth Battalion, Third Brigade. I was the Platoon Guide and Jim was the Fourth Squad Squad Leader. We continued on to Advanced Individual Training where we eventually fell out of touch. I recall Jim as thoughtful and quiet, a very positive asset and comrade during a trying and turbulent period.

I was out of town and did not read the obituary until the day after the celebration of life and regret that, seeing as how we lived only ten or so miles apart. I have photos, stories, and memories to share with anyone who would be interested in meeting and sharing.
