Jason Daniel Obituary

Jason Leo Daniel

Fishers - After a courageous five-year battle with cancer, Jason Leo Daniel was called home to Heaven on March 22, 2018 at the age of 39.

Jason was born on November 4, 1978 in Richmond, Indiana to Jerry Daniel and Laura Shaw. A native of Cambridge City, Indiana, Jason graduated from Indiana University in 2001 with a degree in finance. Jason began his career at Union Savings Bank in 2002, and at the time of his passing was employed as a Senior Mortgage Loan Officer. During that time, Jason also worked with his brother-in-law Daniel Harrison for two years as an Environmental Driller at Boart Longyear. He was an active member of Northview Church in Carmel, Indiana, where he participated in basketball, football, volleyball and softball through the Hilltop Sports Program. His desire to serve others brought him to Scotland and Grenada on two mission trips with his church family. This desire also led Jason to serve as the boy's 2011-2012 JV golf coach and 2014-2015 varsity golf coach at his wife's place of employment, Lawrence North High School in Indianapolis, Indiana.

His favorite activities were playing with his children, visiting with family members, spending time on the golf course, cheering on Indiana basketball and Cincinnati Reds baseball, completing woodworking projects, fishing and teaching his children how to fish, and most importantly, living out his life through his faith. Jason was known for his ever-present smile, his humble spirit, and his unwavering friendship. He was a hero to all who knew him.

Jason is survived by his beloved wife of fourteen years, Sham; daughter Josephine, age 10 and son Eli, age 7; father Jerry Daniel and mother Laura Shaw; maternal grandparents Lloyd and Mona Shaw; aunts Lucille Schroff, Donna (Craig) Dye, Peggy Shaw, and uncle Robert (Ingrid) Shaw and three cousins. He is also survived by mother-in-law Jackie Harrison, sister-in-laws Suzy (Jim) Bunce, Cindy (Randy) Glaze, Steph (Mike) Beeson and brother-in-laws Scott (Vickie) Harrison, Gary (Darlene) Harrison, Dave (Heather) Harrison, Dan (Tasha) Harrison and Chris (Lori) Harrison. In addition, Jason is adored by numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 3-7 on Sunday, April 8, 2018 at Northview Church in Carmel, 12900 Hazel Dell Parkway, Carmel. A celebration of life will immediately follow with Northview pastor Doug Kizer officiating. Pastors Jim Bunce and Doug Kizer will lead a private graveside service with arrangements handled by Flanner Buchanan - Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.

The Daniel family would like to extend their immense gratitude and appreciation to the following people and organizations: Dr. Lawrence Einhorn, Jackie Barnes and the staff at IU Simon Cancer Center, including Dr. Costantine Albany and Yvonne LaFary; Dr. Sameet Bhatia, Sheryl Etnier-Colon and staff at Community North Cancer Center; co-workers at Union Savings Bank; the staff and congregation at Northview Church; the staff at Lawrence North High School in Indianapolis, New Britton Elementary in Fishers, Epworth Weekday Children's Ministries in Indianapolis, and many family and friends.

In honor of Jason, donations may be made to Inheritance of Hope at www.InheritanceOfHope.org/Jason or PO Box 90 Pisgah Forest, NC 28768 and Camp Kesem, Indiana University athttps://donate.kesem.org/campaign/friends-of-camp-kesem-at-indiana-university-fy-2018/c141022.
