John F. Hanafee

John F. Hanafee 87, a certified public accountant in Indianapolis for more than three decades, died February 28 in New Port Richey, Florida where he lived the last 30 years. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 15, at Nativity Catholic Church in Indianapolis. There is no calling prior to the service. Hanafee attended Butler University and served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a former member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church and Hillcrest Country Club. He was an avid golfer, scoring three hole-in-ones while playing in club tournaments. He was also an excellent bridge player and belonged to several duplicate clubs both in Indianapolis and Florida. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Scott Hanafee, to whom he was married for 63 years; four children, John F. Hanafee Jr., James S. Hanafee, Thomas W. Hanafee and Sherry Hanafee Hersey; 11 grand children and six great-grandchildren.
