John Matthews Obituary

John Charles Matthews

Born in New Brunswick, New Jersey on December 15, 1964, departed on August 11, 2017 and resided in Ward, Colorado.

John grew up in Indianapolis, Indiana where he attended Cathedral High School. After graduating from Cathedral in 1983, John attended Colorado State University where he fell in love with the Rocky Mountains. After his studies he began work in Colorado and met the love of his life Denise Anderson. John and Denise were married on October 3, 1992.

John is preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth J. Matthews and Elizabeth A. Matthews Sullivan.

He is survived by his wife of almost 25 years, Denise Anderson Matthews and their two children, Joe Matthews and Luke Matthews. He is also survived by his siblings Terri Davis, Judi Lewis (David), Ken Matthews, Jr., Libbi Rodefeld (Jeff), and Monica Sommer (Clint); many nieces and nephews; and great nieces and nephews.

A calling will be held at 1 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 3 p.m. on Sept. 9, 2017 at Lighthouse Tabernacle, 2599 East 98th Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46280.
