Kathryn Taurel Obituary
Kathryn "Kathy" Taurel
Was born on April 16, 1955, adored wife, mother, and grandmother, died suddenly on February 4, 2014. Kathy's open and loving heart was cherished by all she touched. What mattered most to Kathy were the friends and family whose lives she brightened and the many charitable organizations to which she directed so much of her goodwill, including the International School of Indiana, the Indianapolis Museum of Art, the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, and the Indianapolis Opera. She will be missed beyond words.
Kathy is survived by her loving family: husband, Sidney; children, Alex (wife Lucy Bassett), Patrick (fiancée Tanaz Moghadam) and Olivia and grandchildren, Beacon and Eleanor Bassett-Taurel. She is also survived by her parents, Jose and Estella Fleischmann; her sister, Nicole Fleischmann, and many other family and friends.
Services will be in Miami, Florida at Lakeside Memorial Park, 10301 NW 25th Street at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, February 9. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the International School of Indiana or the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

I will always remember Kathryn,my very nice student and friend,in Paris.
We were seeing each other almost every day,talking a lot ,having fun.
I remember the wedding in the 16th and other events.
Pierre( who also passed away too early) and I were always pleased to see Kathryn and Sidney.

Dear Sidney, Alex, Patrick and Olivia, and family, I was profoundly saddened to hear of loss of Kathy. She was one of the most loving, beautiful (inside and out) graceful, kind, and extremely wise human beings I knew. Besides the loving kindness she always bestowed upon me, she provided me with verbal emotional comfort on more than one occasion. I can't imagine your loss. Dear Sidney and Family,
I was so touched by the inner beauty Kathy possessed, along with her welcoming, engaging, and very warm presence. Although I really only met her five or six times over the years, she always made me feel as if I was the most important person she was speaking with at that time and as if we were truly friends. The last time I was with her was in Indianapolis last January during the weekend of JJ's shower. She spent a good part of the weekend with us at Mary's as she had just come in for the shower. I remember thinking that I was spending the weekend with this great sophisticated woman of the world who's is so down to earth and easy to be with. I always knew how lucky Mary was to have such a wonderful giving friend like, Kathy, and Mary knew it too. To know Kathy was to love Kathy. I feel so honored and fortunate to have known her.
