Lena Marie (Grossi) Schiavone

Indianapolis - Age 83, died December 09, 2017. Lena was born in Weirton, W. VA to Valentino and Mary (Posata) Grossi September 02, 1934. Lena was very devout in her catholic faith where she gave of her Time, Talent and Treasure at St. Monica Catholic Church. She was also a member of the Epsilon Sigma Chapter of Kappa Kappa Kappa Sorority. Lena was preceded in death by her husband Danté Schiavone and her three brothers; Chester, Dan and John Grossi. Calling will be Friday December 15, 2017 at Flanner Buchanan-Speedway from 3 to 8 pm. Saturday December 16, 2017 funeral mass will be held at St. Monica Catholic Church at 10:30 am. Lena is survived by her sons; Peter "Pete" (Kerri) Schiavone and Michael "Mike" (Kathy) Schiavone and grandchildren; Kristyn (David) Lu, David (Liz) Schiavone, AnnMarie (Jeremy) Rose, Natalie and Lillie Schiavone and her sister Louise Enrietti. They were such lovely people and we had many good times at their basement parties. We also got to know Pete and Mike. I regret I cannot be at the funeral on Friday/Saturday as I will be out of town attending the Installation of a bishop in Evansville Indiana. Dear Pete and Mike, my LH Brothers, your mom was a beacon of light, always smiling and positive. I remember her bringing us cookies during rousing athletic contests in SchiaLoy stadium. You two, your mom and dad were all anchors of the neighborhood and community. You have a powerful legacy! What an absolute delight it was to have Lena one of the residents at Robin Run Village. She greeted each resident, coming or going, with her beautiful radiant smile as she sat in the hall or outside, weather permitting. So gracious, so loving and kind. She will be greatly missed among our ranks.
She will now be enjoying the heavenly banquet our Lord has prepared for all of His faithful ones.

Lena was a wonderful woman who made everyone welcome. Her smile was memorable. My father built their home and I was Pete and Mike's babysitter when I was in high school. I have fond memories of those times, as well as Lena's wonderful cooking talent. Prayers for your family.

We are saddened to learn of Lena's passing. Lena was the most precious women in the world! She has touched so many lives. We were blessed having Dante, Lena, Pete and Mike as our next door neighbors. Mom and Lena were such good friends. Mom remembers the every Friday beauty shop around our kitchen table with Lena and Pat Miracle. For us kids, one of our memories was sharing a party line with the Vice Principal..lol.

Lena has touched so many people with here kind heart and her beautiful smile. She will be missed by so many. Pete and Mike, our thoughts and prayers are with you and your entire family. We love you guys.
