Marva Jean Anderson
65, Indianapolis passed away on January 11, 2013.
A 1965 graduate of Shortridge High School, she was a 1970 graduate of Tennessee State University, where she became a member of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. She attended Southwest University Law School.
She resided in California, where she was a member of the St. Paul Baptist Church in Oxnard and Shepherd of the Hills Christian Church in Porter Ranch. She was an insurance claims executive for 21st Century Insurance Company for 25 years, retiring in 2005. She attended Zion Tabernacle Apostolic Church throughout her childhood. Upon returning to Indianapolis in 2006, her participation in many activities was restricted due to illness.
Services will be Thursday, January 17, at 7:00pm with visitation from 5:30-7:00pm at Zion Tabernacle Apostolic Church, 4107 North Sherman Drive. Graveside Services will be on Friday, January 18, at 9am at Washington Park North Cemetery.
Preceded in death by her parents, Wilburn E. Anderson and Marvel E. Hazelwood Anderson, those left to cherish her memory include a brother, Ronald E. Anderson (Dolores); sisters, Andrea D. Anderson and Patricia Anderson Smith and aunts, Alice Hopson, Ann Jackson and Ladye Hazelwood.
Memorial Contributions should be directed to Indiana Parkinson's Foundation, 10936 Gresham Place, Noblesville, IN 46060.

I will miss seeing Marva at the end of the dinner table as I sat with my Grandmother at Robin Run. She was such a delight and always smiling. Her face would light up when she saw me and it would really light up when she would tell me that Andrea was home. May God continue to bless you!

My heart was sad when I got the news about Marva but I know that God is in control of all things and he knows when we have stood all we can so he comes to release us from all the pains of this physical body. I will miss Marva's sense of humor and the glint in her eye when she and I talked girl talk. I will keep you guys in my prayer as you go through this breavement period.
