Mary E. McCreary

Mary Ellen McCreary 82, of Del Rio, TX, formerly of Indianapolis, passed away December 14, 2006. She was born January 26, 1924 in Indianapolis. Her parents were Lawrence and Louise McMahon. Mary served in the Navy during WWII. She retired in 1992 from the U. S. Post Office after 28 years of service. Mary was a member of the American Legion and the VFW. Her husband, William M. McCreary, and children, William L. and Donna McCreary, preceded her in death. Survivors include her children, Ramona Hubbard, Michael McCreary, Jackie Medsker, Shirley Major, and Thomas McCreary; "adopted" daughter, Brenda Schlichting; sister, Peggy Schmidt; six grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, December 21, 2006 at G. H. Herrmann Madison Ave. Funeral Home, 5141 Madison Ave., with calling there from 4 p.m. until the time of service. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society or American Heart Association.
