Matthew Mayer Obituary
Indianapolis - Matthew Richard Mayer (Matt), 28, died unexpectedly, Friday, December 14, 2018. Matt was born April 3, 1990, at Methodist Hospital to Richard F. (Rick) and Vicki Lynn (Menish) Mayer, Jr. Matt attended the following schools: Beech Tree Day Care, St. Jude Catholic Grade School ('04), Roncalli Catholic High School ('08), Ancilla Community College ('11) and Purdue University ('13) earning his Bachelor's Degree in Operations and Supervision. Although Matt played many sports through his school years, Matt excelled as a baseball pitcher continuing his sports and education career at Ancilla for 3 years.
Matt was preceded in death by his Mom, Vicki, Grandmother Rita Mae (O'Gara) Mayer, Grandfather William G. Menish, Great-Grandmother June Menish, Grandparents Jack and Ann Hutt and Uncle Christopher G. Hutt.
Survivors include parents Rick and Cathy (Hutt) Mayer, brothers Bryan (Kayla Woodruff) Mayer, Jeremy (Celeste Blanchette) Tunny, Ryan (Bridgette Griffin) Tunny. Grandparents: Elizabeth (Moore) Menish and Richard F. Mayer, Sr. Aunts/Uncles: Rob and Theresa (Ritzi) Mayer, Mick and Debbie (Ward) Mayer, Steve and Lisa (Chadd) Mayer, Michele (Mayer) Dunn, Bill and Dorothy Menish, John and Julie Hutt, Greg and Joann Davis, Will and Diana Hutt, Dean and Sue Wilson, Matt and Maureen Hutt, Joe and Tommi Lavelle and Kristin Hutt.
Visitation is Friday, December 21, 2018 from 4 - 8 PM and Saturday, December 22, 2018 at 9 AM at St. Jude Catholic Church, 5353 McFarland Road, Indianapolis, IN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, December 22, 2018 at St. Jude at 10:00 AM, followed by internment at Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers and gifts, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to The Progress House. Envelopes will be provided or visit www.Progresshouse.org.

The Compassionate Friends is an international grief support group for parents, grandparents and siblings who have suffered the heartbreaking loss of a child. Our only mission is to provide comfort, hope and support to every family experiencing the death of a son or daughter, brother or sister, or grandchild, and to help others better assist the grieving family.
We meet monthly on the first Tuesday at the First Baptist Church, 99 W. Main St, Greenwood, IN 46142 and on the third Thursday at the Epworth United Methodist, 6450 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis, IN 46220.
