Maurice Scales Obituary

Maurice Lee Scales 86, Whiteland, IN, died January 15, 2010. He was born June 1, 1923 in Jasper, Indiana. He had been a design engineer for Dean Brothers Co. in Indianapolis for 35 years, retiring in 1989. He was also an Elder for many years and member of the Whiteland Church of Christ. He enjoyed woodworking. Mr. Scales was a U.S. Army veteran. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or Susan G. Komen Cancer Foundation. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 19, 2010 in the Whiteland Church of Christ, with calling there from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, January 18, 2010. Pastor Ronnie Hewitt will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Franklin, IN. He was preceded in death by brothers, Charles Raymond and Chester Scales and an infant sister. Survivors include wife, Thelma Rosemary (Spriggs) Scales, Whiteland; children, Dan (Debra) Scales, Whiteland, Lavana (Ed) Tichenor, Whiteland; five grandchildren, Lara (Josh) Rogers, Ryan Scales, Seth, Jordan, Chase Tichenor; one great-grandchild, Elliott Rogers. Arrangements by Jessen Funeral Home.
