Michael Tex

80, passed away on December 21, 2016. Michael is now with the Lord and reunited with his brothers and parents. Following his graduation from Manual High School, Michael served honorably in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany through 1959. After his military discharge Michael was employed at General Motors until retirement, thus his passion for Chevrolet cars. He also had a passion for sports. When not golfing or bowling he could be found watching IU basketball and Notre Dame football whenever they played as well as countless trips to watch the Reds play baseball. He attended every Indy 500 until his health prevented the long walk. He was a man of many traditions including never missing a Saturday night dinner and a movie date with his love. Comfort is found in his devoted Catholic faith.

He is survived by his love of 40 years, Shirley Beyl; her family; his siblings, Mary Tex, Ronald Tex, Thomas Tex (Kay); nieces and nephews, Sharon Paul, Karen Miller, Angie Miller, Mark Miller, Judith Heatherly, Tom Tex, Debbie Tex, Tamara Taylor, John Tex, Becky Tex Krauth, Kevin Tex, Jeff Tex, Jerry Tex, Kathy Tex, Melissa Leroux, Carrie Tex; several great nieces and nephews; and one great great nephew.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at 11 a.m. in St. Mark Catholic Church. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. in Daniel F. O'Riley Funeral Home where prayers will be said on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. prior to Mass. Online condolences may be shared with the family at orileyfuneralhome.com.
