Mildred Ruth Mabe Weatherly
Born February 18, 1921 in Bartholomew County, Indiana, was the daughter of Cecil and Hazel (Mounts) Mabe and the younger sister of Lawrence Mabe. Millie was married to Chester D. Weatherly, who preceded her in death in 2011. Millie and Chet were the parents of three children, Ann (Bettag), Susan, and Jon; grandparents of seven; and great grandparents of seven. A lifelong Christian, Millie served several Indianapolis area congregations, most recently East 91st Street Christian Church. Millie was beloved and admired as a sparkling conversationalist, a skilled cook and seamstress, a charming hostess, a loyal friend, a persistent overcomer of adversity, and a faithful follower of Jesus. Millie's family is deeply grateful for the personal care and support provided by The Hearth at Tudor Gardens and Harbor Light Hospice. Millie's life will be celebrated in a private memorial service. Donations may be made to Alexander Christian Foundation and International Disaster Emergency Services.

Susan and family: My family is keeping yours in our thoughts and prayers. It has been a long while from our days on the east side. I do remember how fond my Mother was of Millie. She was a blessing to all who knew her.

Phil and I shared many happy times with Chet and Millie. Their giving spirit and sense of humor have left an everlasting imprint on my life. Phil went home in January of 2013 and I have no doubt that he and Chet as well as many others were in heaven welcoming Miss Millie home. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
