Mykel Miller Obituary

PFC Mykel F. Miller 19, (aka Rosario Nuñez), died on September 6, 2007, as a brave soldier and hero in the Zabul Province of Afghanistan, as he served our country in Operation Enduring Freedom. PFC Miller was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 158th Infantry Regiment, Arizona Army National Guard. He graduated from Desert Vista High School in 2006. In his short, but well lived, nineteen years, Mykel's smile and passion for life touched the lives and hearts of family members, friends, and strangers throughout our wonderful country, the Philippines, Colombia, and Afghanistan. Now he rides in heaven, where he shares his smile with the world. He will be especially missed by his father, Israel Nuñez Cruz, step-mother, Lilana Nuñez, his mother, Maria Miller, step-father, David Miller, his sister, Sera, his brothers, Christopher and Jacob, grandparents, Rosario and Antonia Nuñez, and Remedios Eudela, his aunts, uncles, cousins, and his best friend, Jeffrey Douglass Brecht. A Funeral Mass was celebrated at 9:30 A.M. on Tuesday, September 18 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 3550 East Knox Road, Phoenix. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations in memory of PFC Mykel F. Miller to Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 3550 East Knox Road, Phoenix, AZ 85044. "The light of a distant star continues to reach the earth long after the star is gone" (author unknown). PFC Miller, in the same way, the light and love you gave will continue to shine and fill our hearts.
