Nathaniel King Obituary

Nathaniel L. King Captain, U.S. Army 31, passed away on April 8, 2006 in Durham, North Carolina while serving on active duty with the Army at Fort Bragg, NC. He was born on December 11, 1974 to Gary and Mary Ann Clower King in Frankfurt, Germany. A resident of Fishers, Nathan graduated from Hamilton Southeastern High School in 1993 where he lettered as a member of the swim and cross country teams. A 1997 alumnus of Indiana University, he rode in the 1997 Little 500. He was a member of the Harley Owners Group, Indiana University Alumni Association, American Legion, and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Field Artillery upon graduation from Indiana University. Captain King's awards include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Parachutist Badge, Air Assault Badge, and the Honorable Order of Saint Barbara Medal. Nathan is survived by his mother Mary King of Fishers, IN; brother Jeremy King of Indianapolis, IN, and his father Gary King of Berea, KY along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Calling will be from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 18 at Shirley Brothers Fishers-Castleton Chapel, 9900 Allisonville Rd. A celebration of Nathan's life begins at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at St Louis de Montfort Catholic Church. Interment will be at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations may be made to: Army Emergency Relief, 200 Stovall St, RM 5-N-13, Alexandria, VA 22332-0600.
