Patrick McCalley Obituary
Patrick was carried to heaven by Jesus on October 6th 2016.
He was a fun loving brother and son. He loved adventures from long boarding with friends to flying an airplane on his 17th birthday. Patrick was proud of his large Irish family. He was kind-hearted and could light up any room with his smile and enthusiasm.
He loved music and was a proud member of the Carmel marching band. His love of music carried into dancing, he loved dancing with his family and friends. He had a strong faith and is now resting peacefully in heaven with his Grandma Vodde and Grandma and Grandpa McCalley.
He is survived by his three sisters Audrey, Maggie, and Lilly, his mother Marilyn and his father Chris and his Grandpa Vodde as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. We love you Patrick rest in peace good and faithful servant.
Visitation for Patrick will be from 3 - 8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 11th, 2016 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Carmel. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at church on Wednesday, October 12th at 10:30 a.m. with additional calling there beginning at 9:30 a.m. Interment follows Mass at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to: The Lord's Pantry at Anna's House or to Carmel High School Marching Band.

I was one of Patrick's classmates. He was without doubt one of, if not the, person who was able to bring the whole class together. He had an aura to him that could instantly brighten your day no matter what troubles you were facing in your own life. At the time of me writing this, it has been almost 3 long weeks since his passing. Without doubt, the entire classroom is feeling this tragic loss. He was the kind of person that I aspire to be. Proud, courageous, funny, loving, charming, and strong. I will never forget the impact that he has left on me, and I am truly honored to have known such an amazing, wondeful, and welcoming person.

Our son, Mitch Korolev, is the same age as Patrick. Spring semester of their freshman year at Carmel High School (CHS) , Mitch was asked to be the bassist in the CHS jazz band. Once or twice a week for a semester, I had the pleasure of Patrick's company in the wee hours of the morning as we carpooled into rehearsals. Patrick was an articulate, intelligent, talented young man. I enjoyed our morning conversations and was very fond of Patrick. Many tears have been and are being shed in our home and in the Carmel community. Patrick will be missed. We are so sorry for the McCalley family. Our heartfelt sympathy and prayers are with you all.
