Mike and family, I want to express my sincere sympathy for the loss of Paul. He was my mentor in that he taught me the ins and outs of timing for the Fever. I am truly grateful to him. I know he lived a full life and will be missed by all. God bless all of you.

Mike & family,
I am so sorry for your loss, but so appreciative of the many years I had with Pood. From the Pacer days in the 70's and all of the Indianapolis Colts days, Pood was always good for a smile, a verbal jab and hard days work. May God comfort you and watch over ol' Pood.

I do not have the words to express the respect and admiration I had for "Pood". He, like the rest of the Pacers stat crew, have become a second family for me. "Pood" welcomed me when I joined the crew in 2000 and he fondly referred to me always as "the rookie" or "part-timer" because I will never catch him or the original stat guys in games worked. Some of my fondest memories will always be sharing a meal with "Pood" and Mike and hearing "Pood" recall an incident from the early Pacer days. He touched so many lives and we are all blessed and better for for knowing him. I, like so many others, will truly miss him...

My condolences to the entire Furimsky crew. Paul was just a great, sweet old guy. Without knowing him you would think he was a curmudgeon (actually I think he told me he was!) until you got to know him! He was sharp as a tack and just a big ole softy. I don't think I ever knew he was one of 8 brothers to fight and all return from WWII. My father was one of 6 brothers to do the same! All the times I would see "Pood" I can't believe we never had a chance to speak about this similarity. He's in a better place now and taking score at the games in heaven. My Pacers days were made better having him around.

To the Furimsky family I am so sorry for your loss. Paul was the sweetest man. My father works for the Pacers and that is where I met Paul. He would always give me a little hug when I passed behind him on stat row. I am sure he got sick of my screaming at the ref's. I will miss seeing his face at the Pacer games. I am so sorry.

Mike, Jan and Mary Ann,
I enjoyed all my years of working with Paul (we never got around to the Pood name). Paul was a man of honesty and integrity - the best kind. He was very instrumental in the growth of our business over the years. And it was always fun to get some of the inside scoop on the Pacers. For anyone who remembers the "3.8 seconds" in the playoff game when Schmitz took the inbound pass and doodled around, then sunk the winning shot ---- I asked Paul later "What about that 3.8?" and he responded, "Joe, a lot can happen in 3.8 seconds"!We'll miss his smile, his kindness and his great stories.

The world will be a sadder place without Paul. He kept me interested in politics, world affairs, sports for 25+ years. He made me laugh and now he has made me cry.

"Hey there Susie-Q, why do the boys all go for you?" It was how Pood Furimsky greeted me all my life. He was so fun and easy going. A loyal friend. One of my favorite people of all time. I'm very sad that he's gone.

To the Furimsky family, thank you for sharing Paul with us for all these years. Paul worked with my father at Stark and Wetzel and was a wonderful friend to our family. His love for the Pacers was very evident..our family through the years always appreciated a chance to say hi to him at games. To all of Paul's children and grandchildren...thank you for sharing Paul with us. I am certain things in Heaven are even more organized and better timed with Paul there.

You were a great man, "Pood," and will be dearly missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with your entire family during this difficult time. I owe a lot of my professional success to you and the Pacers Stat Crew for giving me an opportunity to be around the sports scene at such an early age. Thanks for everything!
