Paul Hoagland Obituary
Paul Robert Hoagland 59, died Thursday evening May 25th, at Tampa General Hospital in Tampa, Florida, with his loving wife, Meredith Ross by his side. Predeceased by his father, Stanley Hoagland and his brother, John, he is survived by his mother, Ruth Hoagland of Indianapolis, daughter, Melissa Odom and her husband, Clay, and their daughters, Paytine and Madeline, of Indianapolis, his son, Craig Hoagland of Tampa, Florida, stepson, Elliot Kumpe and his wife, Dionne, and their daughters, Mariah and Lauryn, of Little Rock, a sister, Linda Bennett and her husband, Bill, and their three children, all of Indiana, and a brother, Dale Hoagland and his wife, Nancy, and their daughter, of Austin, Texas. Mr. Hoagland was vice-president of a national educational administrative software firm headquartered in Florida. He had more than 20 years of experience in sales force development, marketing, educational information technology and educational sales. Prior to that, he taught mathematics and computer technology and was director of computer education services for 11 years in Carmel, Indiana. A former employee described him as "having a natural gift for being able to reach out, help, and support others." He graduated from Indiana State University with a Masters of Science in mathematics and psychology education. During the formative years of the Carmel Symphony Orchestra, Mr. Hoagland served as president and trombonist. He was an active member of the President's Society of Indiana State University and was honored for his generous contributions to programs of academic excellence while there. As an educator, he was a recognized leader in the cutting-edge use of technology in classrooms. Services were held at Griffin Legget Healey & Roth Funeral Home at 5800 W. 12th Street, Little Rock, Arkansas 72204, on June 1, at 11:00 a.m. Donations may be made to Florida Orchestra Inc. in memory of Paul R.
