Richard Brooks Obituary

Richard Warren Brooks

78, of Fishers, passed away on March 4, 2017. He was born September 6, 1938 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Luther E. and Gertrude G. Brooks.  Richard (Dick) married Judith J. Johnston on October 6, 1962.  They were blessed with two daughters; Melanie (Matthew) Hexter and Valerie (Steven) Schuster.  He never missed a birthday for any of his eight grandchildren: Madison, Luke, Morgan, Logan, Lincoln, and Lawson Hexter; and Caroline and Allison Schuster.  He is also survived by his brother, Everett.

A U.S. Army veteran, Dick retired from L.S. Ayres and Autozone.  Dick loved the north woods of Wisconsin.  He followed with interest the Indianapolis sports teams and the birds that came to his feeders.  A member of Cyntheanne Christian Church, he enjoyed singing in the choir.

The family especially thanks the communities of Cyntheanne Christian Church, Britton Falls, and the OLD's.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Shirley Brothers Fishers Castleton Chapel, 9900 Allisonville Rd., and Thursday, March 9th from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at Cyntheanne Christian Church, 13151 Cyntheanne Rd., Fishers, IN 46037, with services immediately following.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Cyntheanne Christian Church.
