Robert Adsit Obituary
Indianapolis - Robert "Bob" Adsit, 78, of Indianapolis, passed away on January 8, 2021. He had a Master of Social Work degree from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan and enjoyed a long career of community organizing and philanthropy. Bob retired from CICOA Aging & In-Home Solutions as Vice President of Planning with over 20 years of service. He was a loving steward of Springdale's 400-year-old Temple Oak and a faithful member of Holy Cross Parish. Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Maryen Adsit and brother, Walter. Bob is survived by his wife, Sheila; daughter, Rebecca Parks, stepchildren Lisa Sauce, Joel Diederich, Amy Jost, Carrie Blankenbaker, and Chris Diederich; two grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren and two great granddaughters. Bob is also survived by sister, Deborah and brothers, Fred and Thomas. Memorial service to be held at a future date. Memorial contributions can be made to Meals on Wheels of Central Indiana https://mealsonwheelsindy.org/donate/.

I was privileged to be CICOA CEO when Bob worked there. He was absolutely brilliant and a happy and collaborative employee whom all loved. He was handicapped by an illness, but that didn´t affect his value as an employee. Miss you, pal!

Bob was a wonderful advocate for Indianapolis underserved community. I first met Bob when I moved to Indianapolis, and taught me much as to Indianapolis "power structure" and who and who in Indianapolis political and social infrastructures. He will be missed.

Bob and I worked together many years at CICOA. He was a loving staff member, one of the most brilliant people I have ever known. Bob was mission driven, serving central Indiana’s elderly and people with disabilities. May he have peace! Condolences to Sheila and Rebecca!
