Robert Asher Obituary
Indianapolis - Robert Marshall Asher, Jr., 69, of Indianapolis passed away on December 13, 2017. He retired from U.S. Navy after 26 years of service. He also served with the U.S. Marines during the Vietnam War. He retired from Citizens Energy Group as a Manager where he was recognized in Who's Who in Black Indianapolis Magazine.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Marshall Asher, Sr. and Edna Mc'Guire Asher and son, Nicholas Anthony.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Beverly Asher; daughters Dellinda (Lynn) Smart (Gary), Nicole A. Brown (Yancy), Treci A. Smith (Amir), Marlowe S. Asher; son, Marcus (Kenyatta) Asher; Sister, Juanita Bushrod; 10 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; mother-in-law, Roberta Thomas and a host of family and friends. Services will be Wednesday, December 20 at 12 p.m. with a calling from 10 a.m. until the time of service at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parrish. Arrangements by. My prayers to the Asher family. Asher was such a joy to work with at Citizens Energy Group. That contagious smile and voice that carried all through the area. The wisdom he gave out about work and life I will always remember.
