Mary Ann Asher

Mary Ann Asher, 86, of Clearmont, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at the Nodaway Nursing Home.

Mary was born on March 23, 1939, in Maryville, Missouri to Henry F. and Beulah (Skeed) Chaney. She was a 1957 graduate of Clearmont High School. While living in Chicago, she was an executive secretary and later she was a school bus driver for the West Nodaway School District. Mary loved her fur babies and enjoyed entertaining, quilting, cooking and gardening.

She married James G. "Jim" Asher in 1985. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded by her parents, daughter, Leasa Fallmer, and her sister, Helen Kaye Stewart.

Survivors include her daughter, Lori (McCalvin) Smith-Freeman, three grandchildren, Zane Townsend, Cody Townsend and Amber Brayman; two stepdaughters, Marian (Chris) Sand and Gail (Ray) Asher-Fiedler; brother-in-law, Richard Stewart and many nieces, nephews and great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Asher has been cremated under the care of Price Funeral Home. Memorial Service 10:30am Tuesday, March 24th at Price Funeral Home. Burial Oak Hill Cemetery in Clearmont, Missouri. In memory of Mary, her family suggests memorial be made of the New Nodaway Humane Society or the American Cancer Society.
