Georgia Frances Cruth, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother passed away peacefully on Monday, January 5th, 2026, at the age of 91. Born on Thursday, December 20th, 1934, in Hopkins, Missouri, Georgia lived a life full of love, dedication, and service to her family and community.
Georgia was the daughter of the late George Logan Downing and Frances L. Downing. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles Cruth, her son Kevin Cruth, son-in-law Jeff Danner, brothers Larry and Grant Downing, sisters Virginia Cruth and Wuanita Crowley, brother-in-law David Cruth, sister-in-law Gail Downing, and nephew Wayne Cruth.
A proud alumna of Pickering High School, Georgia graduated as the valedictorian of her class, a testament to her intelligence and dedication to learning. Her passion for knowledge continued throughout her life, as she was an avid reader and recently won an award for reading the most books at the Maryville Public Library.
Georgia worked as a bookkeeper for Cruth Bros. Fertilizer, and served the City of Maryville as a library worker where she was known for her meticulous attention to detail and her warm, welcoming presence. Her love for books and learning was only surpassed by her love for her family.
She is survived by her son Shane (Christy) Cruth of Cullowhee, NC, and her daughter Kathy Danner of Clearmont, MO. Georgia was a proud grandmother to Katey (Ronnie) Jackson of Pea Ridge, AR, Ryan (Mattie) Cruth of Lynnwood, WA, Kelsie Cruth of Ellensburg, WA, Brittany Small of Loveland, CO, Naela (Nathan) Block, Atlantic, IA, and Kerrigan Thorton, Ames, IA. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren K'Lynne, RJ, Alexa, Rowan, Bristol, Mirra, Jordan, Michael, Melody and Derek, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Georgia's life was a testament to the importance of family, community, and lifelong learning. She was always a mom and grandma first, constantly checking on and caring for those she loved. Her kindness, wisdom, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Visitation for both Georgia and her son, Kevin, who passed on the 17th of December, will be held at Bram Funeral Home in Maryville, MO, on Sunday, January 11th, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. A funeral service will be held at Clearmont Christian Church in Clearmont, Missouri, on Monday, January 12th, 2026, at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Clearmont, MO.
Pallbearers honoring Georgia's life will be Ryan Cruth, Ronnie Jackson, Ed Hayes, Richard Barclay, Donovan Harris, Rod Poole, and Jonathan Hayes. Honorary pallbearers include Kenneth Barclay, Matthew Downing, Lyle Marriott, John Hardin, Josiah Hayes, Huck Koger, and Jerry Downing.
Arrangements are provided by Bram Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Clearmont Christian Church in Clearmont, Missouri. Georgia Frances Cruth will be remembered for her unwavering love, her dedication to her family, and her lifelong commitment to learning and community service. She leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
