Robert Haag Obituary

Robert E. Haag, 77, Indianapolis, died May 16, 2003. He was born Nov. 16, 1925 in Montgomery, IN. Mr. Haag owned Haag Trucking Co. for 57 years and was a member of the Indiana Motor Trucking Association. He was an Army veteran of World War II and served in the Fighting 69th Infantry Division and met with the Russians where the east met the west to signal the end of the war. He received two Bronze Stars, European Theater Ribbon and Combat Infantryman Badge. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Holy Family Council 3682. Services will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 20 in St. Michael Catholic Church, of which he was a member, 30th Street and Tibbs Avenue, with calling there from 9:30 a.m. An additional calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, May 19 in Stevens Mortuary. Memorial contributions may be made to the National World War II Memorial, Dyslexia Institute of Indiana or St. Mary of the Woods. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Rose Maxine (Hopkins) Haag; sons Mark E. and Gordon J. Haag; daughters Nancy and Norma Haag; sister Sister Mary Terrance Haag (Sister of Providence); brother Joe Haag; 16 grandchildren.
